Announcing: The 13th Annual Lithgow District Ironfest, titled ‘Apocalypse’ will be held at the Lithgow Showground, April 21 & 22: Hours: 10am – 5pm Sat & 10am – 4pm Sun.
The festival will once again feature all the stunning events that Ironfest has become famous for: a St George’s Day Jousting Event; the Napoleonic-era battle re-enactment event known as the ‘Battle of Lithgow’; the annual blacksmithing conference; the Belly Dance tent, Bloomfield’s Circus, the Medieval Village, art exhibitions, and much more.   More program details will be announced here over the next few months.   (To get an idea of what you can expect in 2012 visit the Ironfest 2011 Program page. For those people new to Ironfest, it is a cool arts Festival with a Metal Edge, featuring art exhibitions,
stalls, live music, street performance, historical re-enactments, (including St George’s Day Jousting
and a Napoleonic battle re-enactment entitled ‘The Battle of Lithgow’ featuring infantry, cannons
and cavalry!), blacksmithing demonstrations, workshops, busking competitions, automotive displays,
educational, historical and technological displays and lots more of a
particularly ‘steamy’ nature this year's Ironfest!
