Steampunk?

If steampunk is the question then Ironfest is the answer.
As a science fiction sub-genre steampunk has existed from
the early 20th century, even late 19th century.
But it wasn’t until the 1980’s that the genre gained its name.

Today the term can be applied to all forms of art & fashion.

Expect steampunk in all quarters; from the GypsyKazbaar in the Far East,
to the KnightRiders on the Tourney Ground, to Vociferous on the Northern Steppes;

the Kingdom will never be the same!

In the words of our esteemed steampunk man of art & action, Sir Dij Dijor:
“Steampunk is a world where 19th century Victorian charm is reworked with a mechanical modern twist,
such as the machines found in works by H.G.Wells and Jules Verne. Works of steampunk often feature
anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as the Victorians of the era would have envisioned them.”

That same man of art & action, Sir Dij Dijor brings you a selection of Steampunk inspired

wonderment in his exhibition inside the Ballroom.

Amaze at the frugal skill and art of recycling that goes into creating these fascinating objects.

Joining Sir Dijor will be well known Corsetry House Gallery Serpentine (Newtown NSW),
Ambrosia and her Perfumes By Nature,

Jenn from Goddess Designs NSW with her Retro twisted aprons and Victorian Skirts,

Colleen from Exotic Designs and her miniature fascinator hats.

Matt and Sam will also be there with Military and Steampunk Accessories.

And while wandering the streets of the Kingdom look out for the Katoomba Amusement Co (KAC).

KAC is what happens when a 19th century photo is recreated in ‘real life’ by a bunch of quirky surrealists
intent on historical accuracy but blended with 21st century engineering.

Exotic Designs

Colleen Maree is an imaginative designer, artificer, and milliner who is

driven by an incredible passion for self-expression through art.
