WEATHER WARNING!
The weather in April in Lithgow, being in the Mountains at over 900m above sea level,
can be quite extreme, most likely very cold (the last two Ironfest's have been arctic & very windy
- in 2008 the festival organizers were scraping off snow and ice from the marquees
and Hessian fencing while packing up!) but it can also be quite warm
(in 2005 on two perfectly calm days the temperature hit 25 degrees Celsius).

Best to check the weather before heading out to Lithgow, and if it says cold prepare for snow.
Hint: no matter what they say, always bring a jacket.
